Donating to FIRST Australia

Individuals or companies can choose to make a one-off donation or provide an ongoing sponsorship to FIRST Australia to assist with hosting events, delivering programs and broadening the impact of FIRST across the country.

Donations are handled through Macquarie University with the link above. To specify that your donation is intended for FIRST Australia, scroll down to "I would like to support" and choose "Select an area of my choice." Simply select the option for FIRST Robotics from the dropdown list provided.

Donating to or sponsoring a FIRST team

Individuals or companies can choose to make a one-off donation or provide an ongoing sponsorship to FIRST teams to assist with the cost of registration, materials, travel, accommodation, mentors and other expenses.

Those wishing to contribute to the development of individual FIRST teams should reach out to teams in their local area to discuss ways to help. These partnerships are vital for teams to reach their full potential and help students experience the joy of FIRST without the limitations of cost.

If you wish to sponsor multiple teams or organise an ongoing team grant, please contact the FIRST Australia team.

Mentoring or Volunteering

Mentors and volunteers are vital to the ongoing success of FIRST programs. Team mentors provide valuable insight and assistance to students to elevate their potential, whilst event volunteers ensure a positive and fun atmosphere for students to showcase their work.

Teams often require a variety of mentors to assist with the design process, including those with technical or mechanical knowledge, software skills or a knack for marketing. Those interested in mentoring a team should reach out to teams in their local area to discuss ways to help.

There are always a variety of volunteer roles needed to run FIRST Australia events. To find more information on becoming a FIRST volunteer, view the 'Become a Volunteer' page linked below.
